Abstract:

Abstract Reverse phase dispersive liquid- liquid microextraction (RP- DLLME) coupled with spectrophotometry is introduced for the detection of total phenol in the muscle tissue of fishes, such as Sphyraena genie, Otolithes ruber, Rastrelliger kangurta, Lutjanus johnii and Barbus Subquin Cunciatus. Phenols in fish tissues were extracted by ultrasonic bath and derivatization with 4- aminoantipyrine. The factors influencing on the extraction efficiency, including type and volume of extracting solvent, extraction time, concentration of 4- aminoantipyrine, derivatization reaction temperature and centrifugation rate and time were evaluated. The used protocol was found to yield a linear calibration curve in the concentration range of 0.4 and 1.6 mg L-1 with a limit of detection of 0.012 mg L-1. The enrichment factors founded 83 -fold. The SPSS was utilized for statistical analysis. The technique has been successfully used for the analysis of total phenols in fish species from several locations in Chabahar Bay.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Formaldehyde in Seawater Samples after In-situ Derivatization and Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction

In this paper, a simple dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for the extraction and pre-concentration of formaldehyde in seawater samples followed with spectrophotometric is proposed. Formaldehyde was derivatized in situ with acetyl acetone in the presence of ammonium acetate in a single step. Then it was collected into a mixture of ethanol (disperser solvent) and chloroform (extracting...

Spectrophotometric Determination of Copper and Nickel in Marine Brown Algae after Preconcentration with Surfactant Assisted Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction

A simple, fast and effective pre-concentration method for the determination of Cu (copper) and Ni (nickel) was developed using a Surfactant Assisted Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction (SA-DLLME) coupled by UV-Vis spectrophotometry in marine brown algae. The complexing agent was 1- (2- pyridylazo) – 2 - naphthol (PAN).The effects of various experimental parameters in the extraction ste...

Determination of Phenol and Carvacrol in Honey Samples Using Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction and Experimental Design for Optimization

A very simple, rapid and sensitive dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) followed by gas chromatography and flame ionization detection (GC-FID) was developed for the determination of phenol and carvacrol in honey samples. A mixture of 100 µl dichloromethane (extraction solvent) and 0.5 ml acetonitrile (disperser solvent) was rapidly injected into sample solution. Thereby a cloudy sol...

Spectrophotometric determination of iron species using ionic liquid ultrasound assisted dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction

A simple and efficient method for speciation and determination of iron in different water samples was developed. The method is based on ionic liquid ultrasound assisted dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (IL-USADLLME) followed by spectrophotometric determination. Fe(II) is complexed with 2,4,6-tri(2’-pyridyl)-l,3,5-triazine (TPTZ), neutralized through ion pair formation with sodium dodecy...

Preconcentration based dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for spectrophotometric determination of zinc in natural water and human blood after multivariate optimization based on Box-Behnken design

A new simple and rapid dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction has been applied to preconcentrate tracelevels of zinc as a prior step to its determination by spectrophotometric method. In the proposed method, 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol (PAR) is used as a chelating agent, and chloroform and ethanol are selected asextraction and dispersive solvent. The optimization strategy is carried out by us...

Determination of some B Vitamins in Sour Cherry Juice Using Dispersive Liquid-liquid Microextraction Followed by High-performance Liquid Chromatography

Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method (DLLME) combined with high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV) was used to determine thiamine (B1), nicotinamide (B3) and pyridoxine (B6) in sour cherry juice. This method was rapid, simple and sensitive. Separation was accomplished using a C18 column. The optimum chromatographic conditions were found to be: mobile ph...
